NETS & MEETINGS:
PVR NET:
- Amateur Radio operators are often trained and skilled communicators. One way to
hone those skills is to participate in a NET, where hams meet at a specified time to discuss many
aspects of ham radio.
- Amateur Radio NETS are controlled by a ham operator known as "Net Control."
- The PVR NET meets weekly on Sunday evening at 9:00 p.m. (0200 UTC)
on the 146.91 Mhz repeater (- offset)(PL 131.8). This net is open to anyone holding a valid Amateur
Radio license.
- Any stations licensed to operate on this frequency are invited to participate in the net.
- The purpose of this net is to maintain a core of trained amateurs to provide backup communications where
needed. There is no substitute for actual practice.
- This is a controlled net, but can be interrupted at any time if there is emergency traffic to be
transmitted.
- The net provides great experience for people who want to learn how to do Net Control. Being Net Control
is an easy job, and there is even a script and log provided!
If you would like to be Net Control for a future net, please speak up when you check in.
SIMPLEX NET:
- In order to have a backup frequency, Shawn, KC9KOP, has established
a SIMPLEX NET on the 3rd Saturday evening of every month
at 7:00 p.m.
- The NET is found on the 146.580 frequency
- No offset or tone needed.
- Please check into this net in order to determine if this would be a
feasible backup frequency.

We want to grow!:
- We are always looking to grow the PVR Amateur Radio Club, so if you are interested in a great hobby, and want
to serve the community at the same time, contact us. You will be put on a contact list for the next Tech level
class, or the next class for upgrading your present license. Also, please attend a PVR meeting. You will meet some
like-minded people who will welcome you to the wonderful world of ham radio.
- Club socializing, public service activities, and emergency communications support have grown with the Club. Today,
PVRARC is actively engaged with the Richland County Emergency Management team and participates in EOC training and
exercises.
- We also have a regular Sunday evening PVR Net in addition to the regular monthly 3rd Thursday meeting.
The Club holds a monthly program meeting where we learn together and exchange information.
- We also sponsor several annual Club social functions and periodic FYI Bulletins.
We offer radio license classes as needed, and sponsor regular license examination sessions throughout the year.
- Club members participate in the annual Field Day sponsored by the ARRL, and the national Simulated Emergency
Test (SET) which is also an annual event. We provide amateur radio communications support for a variety of Richland
County events each year.
- We continue to grow in both our own technical skills and in our ability to give to our community. Growing and giving
are the historical -- and the present -- roots of the Pine Valley Repeater Amateur Radio Club.
We'll be looking for you! Come grow with us!
